Membership Benefits
Becoming a MTG Member is a simple process that can be completed online in less than 5 minutes. All you need to do is fill out our membership application and then pay the $45 yearly fee, either through Paypal or by check. MTG is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization (i.e., no one gets paid). Your $45 yearly membership fee helps offset club costs, our insurance policy, which we need in order to reserve courts for our teams and tournaments. Click here to join.
So what do you get by becoming a MTG member? The answer is a whole lot!
1. You're Part of Our Family.
You will automatically be added to our Membership Database providing you access to hundreds of members. So if you want to play tomorrow, you can search our Member Directory, located online in our members only section which is available once you log into our site as a current member. You can search for someone you might have met, or you can search for, say, intermediate female or male players.
2. USTA Leagues
USTA teams compete in four national divisions: Adult, Senior, Super Senior and Mixed Doubles. The format features singles and doubles matches for adult leagues, and three doubles matches for seniors, super seniors and mixed leagues. Many of our members Captain and field teams for them all. They vary in skill levels from beginner (2.5) to advanced (4.5). Being on a team is an easy way to get regular play and meet a whole bunch of people. Our Membership Director can help you find a team. 5. Ongoing Events
We have a social doubles party at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center every month. A board member greets you and helps you to get on a court with similar leveled players. If you think you might like to test drive our club, this is a good way. Check out our upcoming events and start planning today!
6. Non-Tennis Events
While we do love our tennis, we also have events that don't actually involve playing. We organize trips to see local tournaments, such as the US Open, World Team Tennis, march in the Gay Pride Parade (June), staff coat check at the Pride Dance, happy hours, participated in fundraisers such as the AIDS Walk, happy hours, brunch, etc. We also have an annual holiday party.
7. Developing and Fostering Skills
While MTG is not generally in the business of teaching tennis, we do provide outlets for Beginners and for our members to improve. Beginners parties include a 1 hour group clinic with a local pro followed by 1 hour of playing. We also have relationships with local pros and can put you in contact with some great folks who support our gay tennis community, some of whom are members.
8. Discounts
By being a MTG member, you receive discounts on tennis gear/supplies, round-robin singles and doubles events which include a food/drink social hour. As a member, you are also able to get tickets for tennis events such as the US Open, World Team Tennis at a reduced cost!

So basically, we make it very easy for you to get involved, meet a bunch of new people, network within the tennis community, and organize more tennis events than one person could ever possibly play. We're a very welcoming group, we like to have fun, play hard and enjoy some laughs when it's all done. We hope you'll join us.
