Liberty Open - A 2008 Masters Series Event

The Liberty Open was selected by the GLTA to be one of the four Master Series Tournaments for 2008 (along with Miami, San Francisco and Zurich). Players in each Masters Series Tournament earn bonus points towards the year-end GLTA Champions Race Tournament!

The Liberty Open is played at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, home to the US Open. Players from across the US and from around the world come to experience the courts where tennis greats Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Justine Henin and Andy Roddick have played. Enter early to reserve your spot! Application information below.

2008 Liberty Open Schedule and Information

Schedule:

Draw Party: Thurs, July 3rd, 6-9 PM. Veranda 411, The Hotel Roger Williams
Play begins: Friday, July 4th, 8:00 AM
Banquet: Sunday, July 6th, 6:30-11 PM. Porcão Churrascaria.
Finals: Monday, July 7th. Any players who make it to the finals should expect to be available from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Monday.
Closing Party: Monday, July 7th, 6 PM... Bamboo 52.

Housing:

We are pleased to again have The Hotel Roger Williams as our host hotel. For information and reservations, please contact Stephen Redford at sredford@hotelrogerwilliams.com or at 888.448.7788.

Through the generosity of our MTG members who have offered to open their homes, we have a limited availability of hosted housing. It will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to request housing, please email Patrick So at patrickso2020@yahoo.com.

GLSEN:

This year, we are proud to once again designate GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) the recipient of proceeds from the Liberty Open. Through national conferences and establishing local Gay-Straight Alliances, GLSEN strives to create safe academic environments for
all students. Upon registration payment, you also can earmark a direct donation towards GLSEN. For more information, vist www.glsen.org.

Registration:

Registration is closed. Available on our site is a list of players by division. For a list of events, draws, and updated tournament results, go to the Tournament application link below. Donations to GLSEN can still be made through the payment link.
